Many new skills were aquired on this piece. Applying burl veneer, hidden mitered dovetails joints, applied custom made walnut moldings, extensive turnings, a finishing technique called Japaning, and installation of an applied cock bead molding. This was by far the most challenging piece I've completed to date, not to mention the fact that it is absolutely beautiful.
